Free import:
1. by persons 18 years of age and over:
- 400 cigarettes or 500 grams of pipe tobacco or 500 grams of cigars;
- 1,5 liters of liquor, 2,5 liters of wine and 2,5 liters of beer.
2. goods for personal use, up to a value of USD 1,000.
Prohibited: the import of poultry and related products.
Dogs and cats must be accompanied by a veterinarian health certificate issued at the point of origin and an import permit to be obtained in advance by writing to the Director, Veterinary and Tsetse Control Department, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, Mulungushi House, P.O. Box 50060, Lusaka, Zambia. Dogs also require an additional rabies inoculation certificate. Prohibited: import of poultry and related products.
Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Zambia.
Exempt: baggage of transit passengers with a destination outside of Zambia if the passengers do not leave the transit area.
Local currency (Zambia Kwacha-ZMW) and foreign currencies: amounts exceeding USD 5000 or equivalent must be declared.
