Lusaka Airport Workers Strike

Publié le 15/10/2013
Catering workers at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport have downed tools demanding improved wages.

The workers who staged a boycott at the country's largest airport said they would not go back to work until their demands are met.

Airport and Allied Workers Union Lusaka branch chairperson Mable Jere said the union's efforts to engage management had fallen on deaf ears prompting the workers to down tools.

Jere said management had not been willing to negotiate despite several attempts by the workers' representatives to engage them.
